Series: The History of Christmas

From Isaiah to Jesus

December 22, 2024 | Dr. Noel Dear

Right in the middle of Jesus’s genealogy, we find Ahaz, one of the most wicked kings in history. Yet, in a moment of crisis, God sends the prophet Isaiah with a message of hope: “See, the virgin will conceive, have a son, and name him Immanuel.”

This promise not only speaks to Ahaz’s need but also reveals the ultimate solution for every crisis, including ours today.

In this message from The History of Christmas series, we explore how this ancient word shapes the reason we celebrate Christmas now.
