Worship & Sunday School

We have two Sunday Morning Worship Services at 10:15am:

Our Celebration Worship Service is a multi-generational service which meets in the Sanctuary. The music is led by our Celebration Choir and Orchestra and features a broad range of worship music from traditional hymns to contemporary worship music.

Our Summit Worship Service is a multi-generational service which meets in the gymnasium of our Christian Life Center (CLC). The music is led by our Summit Worship Band and features primarily contemporary worship music. The message is presented via video from the Sanctuary.

Sunday School is at 9:00am - We view Sunday School as an integral part of getting involved at First Baptist. We offer classes for all ages and groups. Visit the Welcome Center,  Information Desk or talk to a greeter or staff member for help finding the right class for you!

Location & Parking

First Baptist is located just a few blocks north of historic downtown Nacogdoches at 411 North Street.

Visitor parking spots are available in our main south parking lot (the big one). Look for one of our parking lot crew either walking the parking lot or driving around in golf carts if you need directions for where to park or which building entrance to use.

Once parked, volunteers are stationed at the main entrances to the church building and can direct you to where you need to go!

Our Welcome Center is located off of our south parking lot. You'll also find an elevator a short way inside that will give you access to all levels of our main building.

What can I expect?

  • How long are the services?
Our services usually last a little over an hour. Services generally begin with 15-20 minutes of worship through music followed a message from our pastor, Dr. Noel Dear, that lasts 35-40 minutes.
  • What do people wear?
You will see people dressed in suits and ties, in dresses, jeans and polos, and shorts and t-shirts. Dress is not a concern here. We just want you here worshiping our God with us!
  • What about my children?
We offer a special worship time created for children 1st - 3rd grade to be free to worship like kids though music, Bible study, games and hands on activities! Kids are dismissed during our services. For childcare and nursery during worship and Sunday School, see below!

What About Childcare and Nursery?

We have an incredible Children's Building that both kids and parents will love! For the safety of our children, we offer a secure electronic check-in system. If you are visiting First Baptist for the first time, please plan to come a little early to register your child in the system. Registration is available for first-time guests at one of our Children's Building Welcome Desks and only takes a few minutes of your time!

Our nursery is available during most regular activities for babies - Kindergarten throughout the year and is staffed with screened, experienced, caring workers and volunteers!

Visit our Children's Ministry page for more information about what's available for your kids!
