Series: Paul's Final Words

Continue Your Training

June 14, 2020 | Mark McLendon

Passage: 2 Timothy 2:3-7

Paul uses three metaphors to help describe what it looks like to be a disciple of Christ. We are soldiers, we are athletes, and we are farmers. These three metaphors help us uncover the training and the qualities of what it looks like to follow Christ. Being a Christian is not just a title or a religious stance; on the contrary, it is a descriptive word that calls those who claim it to action.

In this message we are going to look at action steps we need to take as we seek to be fully devoted followers of Christ. You may want to wear closed toe shoes this Sunday, I’ve been stepping on my own toes all week and there is a good chance God’s word will step on yours too!
