We are offering FREE yard crosses to anyone who would be willing to display it in their front yard! We even include a stake and screws. Simply stop by the church at anytime. Crosses are located in the breezeway located off the south parking lot next to the Children's Building.

If one were to drive throughout the city of Frankenmuth, Michigan, he would find many 3-foot crosses in the front yards of people’s homes. A few years ago an atheist living there complained about two crosses on a bridge in town. He requested that they be removed, and the town removed them. He then decided that the city shield should also be changed since it had on it, along with other symbols, a heart with a cross inside signifying the city’s Lutheran beginnings. At that point, the residents decided they had had enough. Hundreds of residents made their opinions known by placing small crosses in their front yards.
In light of the recent request by someone who isn’t even a citizen of Nacogdoches that our mayor and city council cease saying a prayer at the beginning of their meetings, it is time for the citizens of Nacogdoches to stand up and give a powerful and inspiring message for all to see that we are a Christian community and nation. We appreciate our mayor and city council members and want them to know that we fully support them.
When, Dale Frost, a deacon in our church, heard what the citizens of Frankenmuth, Michigan had done, he said, “We can do the same thing.” He and others of our church are making 3-foot crosses to be given out free of charge to anyone who will place them in their front yards. Other churches of other denominations have already agreed to participate.
This is not just a ministry of First Baptist Church. We want everyone, regardless of their church affiliation, to have these crosses. This is a time for all Christians in our city and surrounding area to give a strong, positive message that we are indeed a Christian community.
