Executive Admin Announcement

February 26, 2023

Our Executive Administrator Search Team and our pastor are excited to unanimously recommend Scott Parry as our Executive Administrator. Scott and his wife, Heather, will be in Nacogdoches on the weekend of March 11 & 12. We will host an opportunity for church members to come and meet Scott and Heather on Saturday (3/11) from 9:30 to 11:00am in the Welcome Center. Scott and Heather will also be in the Welcome Center on Sunday morning from 8:30 to 9:00am and in the CLC (Summit area) from 9:45 to 10:15am. We will introduce Scott and Heather in both worship services on Sunday, March 12. We will ask the church to approve Scott's move to our church on that Sunday.

Scott and Heather are from Heath, Ohio. They've been married for 29 years and have two children. (Morgan is 26, and Isaac is 24.) Scott served with Pastor Noel for eight years in a similar position at First Baptist Church of Heath, Ohio.

Scott holds a BS in Business Administration and Accounting from Ohio State University. He served as an accountant and a plant controller for Holophane Lighting for twenty years before joining the pastor in leading FBC Heath. (Interesting trivia: Early in Scott's career with Holophone, he also did some design and engineering work. One of his design projects was the decorative light fixture that SFA now uses on top of all its light poles. That particular fixture is Scott's design.)

As the controller at Holophane-Utica, Scott provided leadership for all accounting functions, cost control, supply chain management, HR, union negotiation, SOX compliance, and LEAN accounting implementation. (Holophone-Utica's annual revenue was $250M.)

Scott joined Pastor Noel at FBC Heath in 2009. Scott oversaw all church administrative, financial, HR, and facility matters. He successfully provided leadership and oversight for multiple capital campaigns and building projects.

After Pastor Noel came to FBC Nac, Scott provided interim leadership for FBC Heath and assisted the new senior pastor in executing a smooth and healthy transition. Scott continued serving with the new pastor, and he continues to be an integral part of the church's leadership.

Scott and Heather have a great marriage. Both serve actively in the church in addition to Scott's staff role. (Heather is a gifted singer.) Scott and Heather have lived in the same community their entire lives. They are held in very high regard both in the church and community. Scott embraces a very conservative financial approach in both his personal life and in the areas where he provides leadership. Scott's track record of success in personal finances, business, executive church leadership, and family makes him the kind of person who can provide leadership and excellence to the administrative functions that support the ministries of First Baptist Church of Nacogdoches.

If you have any questions about Scott or this process, please reach out to our search team (Jimmy Partin, John Alvin Woods, Donna Avra, Leisha Bridwell, David Davidson, Paula Griffin, Trey Turner, and Jackson VanDover) or Pastor Noel.

We look forward to you meeting Scott and Heather the weekend of March 11-12.
